We Won!

Bit-Bit is now free for adoption. We are all relieved.

The egg donor came all the way from another city (thanks to the taxpayers of the state) for her defense-less case just so she could get a day trip. She was in handcuffs and shackles (we were told - we did not attend). She was denied parole, and must now spend a minimum of 48 more months behind bars before she even will be eligible for parole again (musta done something pretty bad in jail). This is good news - she isn't likely to have another child for about 3 years.

May will be spent with the permanency worker doing paperwork.

June's visit will be with permanency worker and the adoption worker.

July-whenever will be with just the adoption worker.

I was hoping to have the adoption wrapped up by the end of summer, but anyone else out there who's adopted from foster care knows how that story goes. It's anyone's guess. But I'm praying it before the end of '08.

Now starts the new sea of paperwork! Praise the Lord!

Whoohoo! Yay for y'all having that bit of worry out of the way and only the good stuff like officially changing her name and getting her photo-op at the paper-signing and with the judge set up ;) I know, I know, not quite THAT fun and easy, but as a complete stranger I'VE had your family on my worry-list waiting to hear this news so I am sure you are all over the moon and hope that everyone is having fun celebrating being one step closer to putting it all on paper :) Congratulations! When I had my younger two not quite fifteen months apart it wasn't an expected thing AT ALL, but you're the first foster-to-adopt mom I've seen it happen to and I've just been giggling away reading because you sound just like me sometimes. Aren't toddlers "fearfully and wonderfully" made little critters? Heh.

Congrats! Of course you have no idea how much I want to move there.

btw, Princess' mom somehow served less than a year for armed robbery...interesting huh? I'm glad some states don't play around and still look out for the kids.

You must be so relieved.

Congratulations! Your girls are beautiful, and I have enjoyed your stories.

BTW, a big thanks on tha tax posting -- we will be using it next year, and hopefully in the years to come as we add to our family.

Happy dance for your family!!!

Hooray! I'm so excited for you. What wonderful news!

I've emailed you the specifics of Boo's case. I'm praying that we have the same outcome that you are getting. Time will tell.

Congrats to you! I can't wait to hear all about the Adoption Finalization Day.

YES! So cool! Very very happy to hear this! Now hopefully you can get thru the paperwork time quick and finalize this. In Pa there's 30 days to file an appeal I am told-and our County has only lost once in their ENTIRE history! (and it was their own fault on a technicality) So, usually when I hear a termination happened then that is it!!! Our County will finalize any month they can. Hopefully you guys can do that too!!
